Caring for Rubber Stamps
For a more enjoyable rubber stamping experience, it is important to learn the correct rubber stamps storage methods and the right way to care for rubber stamps and other craft supplies.
This section highlights the Do's and Don'ts on caring for your rubber stamps and storage ideas of other craft supplies.
DO's
| Always clean you stamps after use.
Use a stamp scrubber for best cleaning as shown on the right. Spray a good amount of stamp cleaner on the used stamp. Scrub the stamp on one side of the scrubber for the cleaning process, followed by scrubbing it on the other side of the scrubber to dry off excess stamp cleaner. Stamps should be kept clean and dry before storing it away.

Alternative cleaning is to use a damp cloth. After stamping, stamp on the damp cloth several times until it's clean.
Store your woodmounted rubber stamps flat or upright. If laid flat, avoid placing several stamps above it as it may damage the rubber due to the weight.
Store unmounted rubber stamps and clear stamps either using empty CD covers or other stamp storage files or in the original packaging if it is suitable.
DONT's
NEVER use any kind of wet wipes on stamps, especially mounted and unmounted rubber stamps. This method has been recommended as an alternative to stamp cleaner but prolonged use of baby wipes will eventually spoil the texture and quality of the rubber.
NEVER wash woodmounted rubber stamps under running water as it will weaken the adhesive between the rubber, foam and wood.
Keep it away from heat or direct sunlight to avoid damaging the condition of the rubber stamps.
NEVER store it in a disorganized way by throwing it randomly into a container as it may cause dent to the rubber which will give you an unclear or broken image.
NEVER store unmounted or clear stamps randomly in a container as it will stick together and damage the form and condition of the stamps.

Ink Pads
Always place lid back after use.
Store stamp pad flat, if you find that it's starting to dry out, you may store it upside down so that the ink flows to the top of the sponge pad. You can also use a spoon and press on the sponge to squeeze the ink out.
Proper rubber stamps storage and care as well as maintaining your craft supplies in tip top condition is important to ensure a long lasting stamping experience. It will prolong the useful life and who knows, some of the rubber stamps may just be a well sought-after stamp after production discontinued!
