Nat is One

A brown and green color themed single fold cards for Nat's first birthday. I have chosen neutral earth tones since it's jungle theme and I particularly like the effect of the alphabets in it's natural shape. Hope you like this card layout suggestion.

Dimension

Card measures 10cm X 10cm. Finished card measures approximately 10cm X 13cm due to the name tag.

Materials

For the name tag and age
  • 1 cream cardstock.
  • 1 brown cardstock.
  • 1 dark green cardstock.
  • 1 grey cardstock.
  • For the card
  • 1 brown cardstock.
  • 1 grey cardstock.
  • 1 light green stripe pattern paper.
  • 1 green ribbon, about 1cm thick.
  • 1 matching green ribbon, about 0.5cm thick.
  • Other tools,
  • 2 green brads.
  • Foam tape.
  • Penny Black Zoophabets clear stamps (shown below).
  • Versacolor Black pigment ink.
  • Hero Arts Clear embossing powder.
  • Heat Gun.
  • Rub-on alphabets for the word "is".
  • Non stick craft scissors by EK Success Honey Bee (shown below).




  • Ek Success Zoophabet Clear stamps

    Instructions

  • Stamp name on a cream cardstock, emboss, color and cut out the tag in any "irregular" form according to shape of alphabet. Set aside.
  • Use alphabet die-cuts from Quickutz KHAKI Minis alphabet "ONE" in dark green and layer over Quickutz KHAKI Minis alphabet shadow in grey. Set aside.
    This is optional, you may use stickers or alphabet cut-outs in replacement of this die-cuts.
  • Layer a light green stripe pattern paper over grey cardstock, embellish with ribbons and brads, tucking excess ribbons behind the grey cardstock.
  • Paste the name tag over the pattern paper using foam tape, to give an added dimension.
  • Paste "ONE" covering part of ribbons.
  • Cut brown cardstock 10cm by 20cm, scoring at 10cm mark and fold. This makes the 10cm by 10 cm brown card base.
  • Layer whole design over brown card base.
