My recent craft purchases - My Sentiments Exactly

I mentioned about the 50% off for papercraft magazines sales in the last issue of my Newsletter. And here it is - my recent purchases from my favorite online stamping store has arrived!

I could not resist the 50% discount on MSE Paris Lower and Upper case Clear Alphabet Stamps and bought it as well. The alphabets looked great and I used it for a birthday card recently.

Birthday Greeting Card

I have not used this stamp for a long time and decided to use it for the birthday girl, who loves planting flowers. Wishing her a happy birthday and hopefully all her flowers in her garden bloom to her heart's content! :)

I choose all these light colors as it gives a very spring feel.

Smell Lovely Birthday

Dimension

Card measures 10cm X 14cm.

Materials

1 set of cream notecard and envelope.

1 white cardstock for stamping.

1 green cardstock for matting.

1 light blue cardstock.

A few prima flowers (or other embellishment you wish to use).

1 Green ribbon approximately 2cm thick.

Other tools,

Foam tape, glue dots and glue.

Versacolor black pigment ink for stamping.

Clear embossing powder.

Soluble crayon and chalk for coloring.

Heat Gun.

Brads for fastening prima flowers.

Penny Black 2090F Smell Lovely Woodmounted rubber stamp (see below).

EK craft scissors (see below).

The rubber stamp is a 2001 production line and it's rare to come by. There are still some available from online stores and you can type "Penny Black 2090F" in the google search section and click "Search".

Instructions

Cut a circle from white cardstock approximately 9cm in diameter. Size of circle tag should be large enough to contain the stamped image.

Stamp Penny Black 2090F image on white cardstock, emboss with use of heat gun and color with water soluble crayon. Use a dauber to chalk around the background using green pastel chalk. See the videos here for more demonstration of coloring.

Mat white cardstock with stamped image over a scalloped round tag. This is optional, you may just layer over a green cardstock and trim around the circle tag leaving a small border around it.

Cut rectangle cardstock, approximately 11cm by 7cm.

Layer ribbon over rectangle, tucking the ribbon ends behind the rectangle.

Paste image tag over the rectangle as shown on the picture, using foam tape.

Decorate with prima flowers as shown. You may use brads to fasten the prima flowers.

Paste the whole design over the card base using foam tape.
