What to do with Scrap Pattern Paper?
For paper crafter, it is very common to accumulate a bunch of scrap and not knowing what to do with them. Using it for another project may seem to be quite boring since I believe most of the paper lovers would prefer experimenting with new pattern paper for new projects. 😀
Here are some ideas on what you can do with all the scrap you have accumulated,
- Use as a matting paper, that way, you won’t see the same pattern on new project.
- If it has a nice even tone, you can stamp a sentiment greeting, cut into strips and use alternate strips of it to enhanced your stamped sentiment, just like this example.
- If the pattern paper has great designs that you would like to showcase it in another project, you can carve out the designs as use it like a holder for photos or tags. It also adds a little more dimension to the project. Here is an example on how you can use it, notice how I carve out the flower petals and make it look like it is helping to hold the sentiment tag.
- If you really love the patterns but what is left is just to small to do anything to it, use it like an embellishment. Check out this card’s embellishment, which is basically cut out patterns from various papers. The paisley prints are great for recycling and adds an ascent to the plain sentiment tag. You can use foam tape at the edge to add more dimension.
I hope you enjoyed these suggestions and they come in handy for you to recycle scraps of paper.
